Irene
Irene
This is an original acrylic painting of a crow, made on a salvaged board that measures 15” x 16.5” and is 1” deep. I thought she looked like an Irene, so that’s her name!
I was painting a lot of crows back in 2019 and early 2020. When Covid 19 hit, I made a collection of them that I called “The Corvid 19.” (A corvid is a member of the family of birds that includes crows, ravens, jays, magpies and a few others.) Then I condensed that group down into a set of nine greeting cards that I called “The Corvid Nine Team.” Because I like to play with words. 🤓
At the time I had the cards printed, she looked different—all red against an orange background. I changed some things up after that, adding more details and lightening the background to a streaky yellow-gold.
She’s still playful and vibrant and would love to grace a wall of your home. The back of the board has toothed hardware and is ready to hang.
