Questions We All Need to Ask Ourselves

Look who’s finally here visiting in person, as opposed to talking through a screen! 🙌🏽 Strict quarantine restrictions in Canada deterred Elena from crossing the border for 15 months. Here’s to mother-daughter hugs and meeting my newish grand-puppy Maya Coco for the first time. 🥰 🥂 🐶

We thought about recording another podcast episode while they 🦮🚶🏽‍♀️are in town, but decided instead, in the spirit of my sabbatical and our mutual desire for e a s e , to re-up the one we released last summer. It’s titled, “How Much is Enough?”

If you ever find yourself (and who doesn’t?) swept up in the capitalist game of MORE MORE MORE, or struggle to unhook from the “time is money” trap, or feel that your self-worth is determined by the size of your paycheck and/or your domicile, this episode — a conversation between me and my then-27-year-old daughter Elena — is for you.

Our discussion is part of a larger effort to unlearn the messaging white supremacy culture bombards us with about who matters and why. Additionally, the path toward equity, justice, and liberation for all requires us to examine how we learned to view the natural world as property to buy and sell, and to unpack the belief that hoarding money is a virtue.

🤔

If you’re having similar conversations with your partner, friends, or kids, Elena and I would love to hear your insights and (more importantly) the changes you’re making.

With love and freeze-dried turkey treats,
Pam (+ team)
